DAYS!?!?!??!We have 11 more school days!!! For any freshman that come across this blog enjoy your time in high school, because it goes by really quick. I wish I could have done more things to make memories. It's not over yet! Mext year is my year! Im taking the crown I deserve.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15087002972133805817noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8067705068564658466.post-5461861405895416032017-05-01T07:47:00.000-07:002017-05-01T08:38:36.177-07:00We Eat Social Media for Breakfast EssayAs im slowly getting closer to senior year ive come to realize so many things about my life. From reading out of encyclopedias and having to wait a week to look at all the pictures ive taken on my costco camera to being able to use my phone for basically anything, ive noticed that ive been growing up in a time where humans are evolving. Although letting your food get cold for a 100 like worthy picture may not be as similar to knives and fire, Dr. Preston explains how in some ways the internet could be better. We dont live in an age where we have to wait weeks to receive news from loved ones, we live in an age where Dr. Preston can share his delicious meal with his adorable daughter instantaneously.
Although Dr. Preston does not speak like a lot of us, he clearly uses diction in his essay that gets the reader hooked to the fact that the Internet is a tool. While explaining his reason behind his statement that the Internet is a tool,He uses the word "Evolutionary" and "Comunicate." As i read his essay and stumbled upon this type of diction Prestons tone became clear to me. In order to get the reader hooked to his argument he presents his diction and the way he makes his sentences long in an admiring and hopeful tone. This helps Preston develop his argument that the Internet is a tool, because it paints a clear comparison of how cavemen mustve said "WOW!!" When they discovered fire.
I think it is crazy how in my short 16 years on this world ive seen a big chunky computer turn into a 5 inch phone. The craziest part about it is that they're no limits to how the internet may be used 40, 50, or 60 years from now.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15087002972133805817noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8067705068564658466.post-81596541342016582672017-02-28T17:18:00.002-08:002017-02-28T17:18:45.895-08:00IM BACK!!!Im back!!! Finally I've figured ot out. By that I mean, I can finally attempt to post without the crappy tablets the school gives us. I really hope it's not to late to start posting to stay in touch with Dr. Preston and the 5 fans I have. Well I'll just get back to watching the The Great Gatsby (I guess we're writing an essay soon) /:Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15087002972133805817noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8067705068564658466.post-66850984181247471302017-01-11T09:07:00.003-08:002017-01-11T09:07:51.502-08:00HELLO 2017! Since January 2016 I feel like I've matured and really changes my perspective on life. An year ago from today I would consider myself a less thankful person. I now veiw everything that happens to me as a gift and I now realize what my priorities are. I also understand now that i should enjoy my youth and not put all my attention to the things that might or might not happen in the future. Now that i feel like i have matured I strive to discover most of my talents and use them to my fullest potential.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15087002972133805817noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8067705068564658466.post-80945519361847315662016-11-03T11:19:00.000-07:002016-11-03T11:19:11.491-07:00Emerson For The Young Bucks I know you've heard this before, but here it goes again. Be yourself. Emerson wants us to be who we really are and not what our friends or classmates want us to be. He uses really complicated words to explain that generic idea, and it actually makes it work. Its like a song, sure its under the same genre but it still sounds completely different and that's what makes it special. Emerson uses all of these things to help the reader understand that we can not be afraid to say what we're thinking. Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15087002972133805817noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8067705068564658466.post-66389209942880089222016-11-01T22:18:00.001-07:002016-11-01T22:18:16.991-07:00EMERSON SAID IT1. "Malice and vanity wear the coat of Philanthropy"
- This quote came up in the conversation today, because it gives us a different perspective of why some people can justify even the things society considers terrible.
2."Nothing can bring you peace, but the triumph of principles"
- This quote may have been referenced, because it can support Emerson's main idea that we should not follow the guidelines society puts on us but rather be self-reliant and follow our own principles.
3."In every work of genius we recognize our own rejected thoughts: they come back to us with a certain alienated majesty"
- This quote is very important, because this helps the reader realize the fallacy, still present today, in society and even in myself.
4."Ne te quaesiveris extra"
- This is very important, because it talks about to look within ourselves, which is basically the main idea Emerson's essay argues.
5."The world has been instructed by its kings, who have so magnetized the eyes of nations"
- This quote is important, because Emerson explains how we are not being ourselves but much rather want to be the people who society makes superior.

This is a perfect representation of the American right to speak up. I believe that not being able to use that right is obscured. I've acknowledged that school has ripped that right out of teachers hands. It is important to speak up ,because it gives a sense of direction to the people who are blind from what is happening around them. It also give the ignorant a different perspective of things. Each canadate tries to remain stolid but Hilary definitely outbeats trump. It's aggravating because trump and Hilary are constantly sticking their proboscis into everyone's business and venomously attacking each other. With each debate America is left suspended to watch the next one just to see the two yell at each other. Both Candidates try to hypnotize the world into thinking their fit to be president trying to prove that they can transform this world into something greater, but they simply just illuminate each other's faults.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15087002972133805817noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8067705068564658466.post-49171127953977364162016-10-03T18:39:00.000-07:002016-10-03T18:39:08.377-07:00Vocabulary: Fall List #51. I personally agree with E.M. Forster’s idea that states personal relationships more important than causes or patriotism. Applying the importance of personal relations can prevent cultural or racial division and remedy the lack of cooperation between people to have an advancement to either already great ideas or the resolution of issues. These are just some of many that support the decision of making personal relations more significant than patriotism or causes.
One reason why personal relationships are more important than causes or patriotism is that personal relationships can impede racial and cultural division. For example, when i went to a cultural festival at my church no one was patriotic about culture which helped everyone, including myself, learn and enjoy other cultures. Although patriotism can be great when it comes to loving and learning where you came from it can pass a certain breadth which leads to ignorance and racism. Certainly this is just one of many examples of why personal relationships are more important than patriotism.
In addition to proving that personal relationships are more important than patriotism is that personal relationships help us cooperate to make ideas better or resolve issues. This is true, because when we bring two or more perspectives we have new ways of approaching the issue or idea. It might be true that patriotism can give us confidence in what we believe in, but arrogance can subside that pride.
In conclusion, E.M. Forster stating that personal relationships are more important than patriotism is something i strongly agree with. I acknowledge that personal relationships are more important, because it helps is improve and brings cultures closer to one another. Is your loyalty to your friend more important than your loyalty to your country, race, culture, or ethnicity?
I'm really sorry if this makes no sense.

Okay now to the point, I was very confused while looking for fallacies, everything the candidates said seemed so factual. I think everything they said was credible to me, because I think of them as very important people with very important things to say. So, one fallacy that i caught onto was the fact that Trump stated that all of the domestic companies were moving to foreign countries because of taxes. I consider this a fallacy, because he distracted me from considering all of the other possible reasons that companies are leaving to foreign countries and why we are losing jobs. Another fallacy from the debate is when Trump stated that he would release something about his takes(forgot what it was) if Clinton would release her private emails. I thought it was a fallacy, because I questioned what Trump is hiding. Why not release some and prove Clinton wrong? Is he truly hiding something?Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15087002972133805817noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8067705068564658466.post-84588783413092299502016-09-14T21:51:00.001-07:002016-09-14T21:51:08.951-07:00IM HAVING THE TIME OF MY LIFE!!! I just came home from the gym proud of myself for completing another step on my path to success. When i came home and saw my sister with a huge smile on my face asking me "how'd it go" i got a warm feeling inside, because someone actually cared about what i do. I immediately thought of all the times i tried to give people that same feeling i just had. Knowing that some people today got that feeling, because i cared about how they are doing made my warm feeling inside even greater. As soon as i thought of all the homework i still have to complete my warm feeling could not get startled. Sure I still have a lot of homework i need to finish, but atleast i dont have as much as when i started. I have to admit the lecture that Dr. Preston gave the class this week about time/dedication and satisfaction really changed my entire point of view on school work and all of the things i dedicate myself to on a daily basis. So, am i having the time of my life? Of course i am! Im actually happy for once instead of always being pressured to complete an assignment just so i dont have to face my teacher the next morning and get the look of shame. That look of shame not only deminishes my day but also detroys my self-esteem. Thank you Dr. Preston.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15087002972133805817noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8067705068564658466.post-7599974008398871412016-09-01T23:46:00.000-07:002016-09-01T23:46:29.542-07:00Satire project abortionThis is the link to my power point Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15087002972133805817noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8067705068564658466.post-79333565525587208172016-08-24T15:51:00.002-07:002016-08-24T15:51:52.154-07:00fox in socks

Like is my red the same as your red? But how will we ever know if we've both been taught to identify that color as red? Another question is do people, born blind, see anything people with sight will never see? One i happen to remember very cleary was when he talks about people literally flying through the air and stil complaining about how much they have to wait. This was an appealing example of satire to me, because i found he describes a vivid picture of what we really should be thinking about and he humourasly describes how were are so worried about the dumbest s***. Another example that's currently running through my mind, because this is something i do, is when he talks about how we get so mad when our phones lag. To me this is an example of satire, because hilariously describes how much better our ways of using phones are compared to when he was a kid. He also explains how its going to SPACE!!!Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15087002972133805817noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8067705068564658466.post-36849885424162873952016-08-17T16:16:00.001-07:002016-08-17T16:16:37.548-07:00

Thats was my reaction after reading the poem,"The Laughing Heart." Its crazy how a couple of words can completely change the way people look at life. Many people don't have hope and would love to give up, but poems like this are what inspire those people to keep going. This poem tries to persuade the idea of there always being light in your darkest moment and if you just keep your head up high and just keep moving forward you'll soon find it.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15087002972133805817noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8067705068564658466.post-29502402781181335212016-08-14T15:04:00.003-07:002016-08-14T15:04:46.563-07:00Although i hate reading i didnt mind reading something as imtersting as that. What i learned from it is that saying I have the right to my own opinion is just a lame excuse to cover up something wrong. Whats the point of even stating that you have the right to your opinion? At the end of the day that doesnt make you opinion any greater than anyone else's. I think its crazy how we are so caught up in our egos that we dont have the courage to acknowlegde our mistakes.
