A HUG IS NEARLY A GUN SPELLED BACKWARD

“Personal relationships are the fertile soil from which all advancement, all success, all achievement in real life grows.” Ben Stein. I personally agree with E.M. Forster’s idea that states personal relationships more important than causes or patriotism. Applying the importance of personal relations can prevent cultural or racial division and remedy the lack of cooperation between people to have an advancement to either already great ideas or the resolution of issues. These are just some of many that support the decision of making personal relations more significant than patriotism or causes. One reason why personal relationships are more important than causes or patriotism is that personal relationships can impede racial and cultural division. For example, when i went to a cultural festival at my church no one was patriotic about culture which helped everyone, including myself, learn and enjoy other cultures. Although patriotism can be great when it comes to loving and learning where you came from it can pass a certain breadth which leads to ignorance and racism. Certainly this is just one of many examples of why personal relationships are more important than patriotism. In addition to proving that personal relationships are more important than patriotism is that personal relationships help us cooperate to make ideas better or resolve issues. This is true, because when we bring two or more perspectives we have new ways of approaching the issue or idea. It might be true that patriotism can give us confidence in what we believe in, but arrogance can subside that pride. In conclusion, E.M. Forster stating that personal relationships are more important than patriotism is something i strongly agree with. I acknowledge that personal relationships are more important, because it helps is improve and brings cultures closer to one another. Is your loyalty to your friend more important than your loyalty to your country, race, culture, or ethnicity? I'm really sorry if this makes no sense.

WHEN LOGIC FAILS

1. Argumentum  ad antiquitatem: Vanilla should be the only ice cream flavor, because it was the very first.

2. Argumentum ad hominem: Johns idea of recycling is idiotic, because john is an idiotic person.

3. Argumentum ad ignorantiam: Jacob believes aliens exist, because no one has proof that they are fake.

4.  Argumaentam ad misericordium: There's so much trash being thrown around this school campus! Something needs to change.

5. Argumentum by numerum: 4 of 5 dentist say that Colgate is the best toothpaste you can buy.

6. Argumentum by populam: 80% percent prefer showering in the morning instead of at night. This means showering in the morning is better for your health.

7. Argumentum ad verecundian: McDonald's is healthier than eating vegetables, because my podiatrist said so.

8. Nature, to appeal: A french fry is smaller than an apple. That means eating a french fry is healthier than an apple.

9. Complex question: Do you really think not doing your homework you will be successful.

10.  Dicto simpliciter: Mexicans eat a lot of tacos, therefore they shouldn't be allowed to eat any other food.

Mistakes for President

Honestly, I have no credible knowledge on politics. Okay now to the point, I was very confused while looking for fallacies, everything the candidates said seemed so factual. I think everything they said was credible to me, because I think of them as very important people with very important things to say. So, one fallacy that i caught onto was the fact that Trump stated that all of the domestic companies were moving to foreign countries because of taxes. I consider this a fallacy, because he distracted me from considering all of the other possible reasons that companies are leaving to foreign countries and why we are losing jobs. Another fallacy from the debate is when Trump stated that he would release something about his takes(forgot what it was) if Clinton would release her private emails. I thought it was a fallacy, because I questioned what Trump is hiding. Why not release some and prove Clinton wrong? Is he truly hiding something?

IM HAVING THE TIME OF MY LIFE!!!

I just came home from the gym proud of myself for completing another step on my path to success. When i came home and saw my sister with a huge smile on my face asking me "how'd it go" i got a warm feeling inside, because someone actually cared about what i do. I immediately thought of all the times i tried to give people that same feeling i just had. Knowing that some people today got that feeling, because i cared about how they are doing made my warm feeling inside even greater. As soon as i thought of all the homework i still have to complete my warm feeling could not get startled. Sure I still have a lot of homework i need to finish, but atleast i dont have as much as when i started. I have to admit the lecture that Dr. Preston gave the class this week about time/dedication and satisfaction really changed my entire point of view on school work and all of the things i dedicate myself to on a daily basis. So, am i having the time of my life? Of course i am! Im actually happy for once instead of always being pressured to complete an assignment just so i dont have to face my teacher the next morning and get the look of shame. That look of shame not only deminishes my day but also detroys my self-esteem. Thank you Dr. Preston.
